Triptyque is Gabriel Genest’s first album as a leader. This saxophonist and composer was born and raised on the shores of Lac Saint-Jean. Triptyque draws its inspiration from a meditation on the connections between music and visual arts. The repertoire of this album came about through the exploration of long musical forms and elaborate arrangements for a quintet. Emerging with fresh sounds, it shines a spotlight on the various improvisors who make up the band.
